Welcome to Qathet Rentals. By renting a vehicle from us, visiting our website, or using any of our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.

1. Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Qathet Rentals, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (higher age requirements may apply for premium vehicles).
  • Hold a valid, full driver’s licence recognized in British Columbia.
  • Present a valid credit card in your name for deposit and payment.
  • Meet our driving history and insurance requirements.

International drivers must present a valid passport and, if applicable, an International Driving Permit (IDP).

2. Vehicle Use

The renter agrees to:

  • Operate the vehicle safely, in compliance with all BC traffic laws.
  • Use the vehicle only for normal personal or business transportation.
  • Not allow anyone other than authorized drivers listed on the rental agreement to operate the vehicle.
  • Not use the vehicle for:
    • Illegal purposes
    • Off-road driving
    • Racing or speed testing
    • Towing or pushing
    • Transport of hazardous materials
    • Ride-sharing or delivery services (unless expressly permitted)

Smoking or vaping in the vehicle is strictly prohibited.

3. Rental Period & Returns

  • The rental period begins at the date and time stated on your rental agreement.
  • Late returns may incur additional hourly or daily charges.
  • The vehicle must be returned:
    • To the agreed return location
    • In the same condition as received
    • With the same level of fuel (unless prepaid fuel option was selected)

Failure to return the vehicle on time without communication may be treated as unauthorized possession and reported accordingly.

4. Fees & Security Deposit

Upon pickup, a security deposit will be charged to your credit card. The deposit amount varies based on vehicle class and insurance selections.

You agree to pay:

  • Daily rental rate and applicable taxes
  • Fuel charges (if applicable)
  • Late fees
  • Cleaning or detailing fees (if returned excessively dirty)
  • Smoking or vaping penalty fees
  • Traffic fines, tolls, or parking violations
  • Costs associated with vehicle damage or loss, subject to insurance coverage

5. Insurance & Liability

Qathet Rentals vehicles include basic statutory insurance as required in BC.

Optional coverage may be offered, including:

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
  • Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
  • Liability extension coverage
  • Roadside protection

Even with optional coverage, you may still be financially responsible for:

  • Damage caused by prohibited use
  • Interior damage
  • Windshield, tire, and undercarriage damage
  • Lost keys
  • Negligence or impaired driving

Always review your insurance selections carefully.

6. Accidents & Breakdowns

In the event of an accident:

  1. Ensure safety and call emergency services if needed.
  2. Notify Qathet Rentals immediately.
  3. Gather information: names, licence plates, insurance, photos.
  4. Do not admit fault or negotiate on behalf of Qathet Rentals.

For mechanical issues or breakdowns, contact us for roadside assistance. Unauthorized repairs may not be reimbursed.

7. Vehicle Condition & Damage

Before leaving the rental location, you should inspect the vehicle and report any existing damage.

Upon return:

  • Qathet Rentals will inspect the vehicle.
  • You may be charged for unreported damage, loss of accessories, or cleaning beyond normal use.

If the vehicle is stolen, damaged, or totaled, you may be responsible for the full cost unless covered by your insurance or purchased protection.

8. Payment Terms

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Major credit cards
  • Approved corporate accounts

Full payment is required at the end of the rental. Unpaid balances may be sent to collections.

9. Privacy

Qathet Rentals collects and uses customer information in accordance with BC privacy laws.
We may use your information to:

  • Process reservations
  • Verify identity and eligibility
  • Prevent fraud
  • Improve customer service

We do not sell personal information.

10. Website Usage

By using our website, you agree not to:

  • Attempt unauthorized access
  • Upload harmful or malicious files
  • Copy, redistribute, or misuse website content

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; Qathet Rentals is not responsible for their content.

11. Modifications

Qathet Rentals may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and any disputes will be resolved in BC courts.
